To accompany people on their decision to explore their inner thoughts, emotions, and workings of their psyche in the therapy space is a humbling experience and a great honour. Many different situations and events can lead somebody to therapy. This may have been a struggle or dilemma that has built up over time or an incident that has recently occurred. I see my main role as being a witness to your narrative and an ally in navigating what steps are taken next; steps that are grounded in evidence based therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mentalization Based Therapy and Schema Focused Therapy.
I was born and raised in Ireland where I began my studies and love affair with psychology before moving to the UK to pursue further studies. I have built a diverse range of experience in both the NHS and private sector in the UK, working with adults and adolescents experiencing psychological presentations including addictions, personality disorders, eating disorders, traumatic responses and general mental health concerns.
Since moving to the Middle-East in 2017, I have enjoyed focusing my training and knowledge around perinatal and infant mental health and perimenopausal and menopausal mental wellbeing for individuals and organizations. I also specialize in supporting individuals and organizations experiencing bereavement, loss and traumatic responses following a critical event and feel very privileged to walk alongside anyone who is experiencing the darkest points in life.
One of my great passions is women’s mental health, particularly around pre and post-natal mental health including traumatic birth and baby loss, IVF and infertility struggles, PCOS, PMDD and peri-menopausal symptoms.
